The Prodigal Son

A Prayer

Luke 15

21 “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. 24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.

28 “The older brother became angry and refused to go in. So his father went out and pleaded with him. 29 But he answered his father, ‘Look! All these years I’ve been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. 30 But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!’

31 “‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. 32 But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’”

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we praise you for lifting us out of the grave; for bringing us back to life when we were spiritually dead. We are thankful that you are a God who welcomes your lost children back.

We thank you for protecting us from witchcraft, slander, and involuntary thoughts of guilt and regret. We thank you for washing away our sins and putting new robes on us.

We praise you Most High for breathing life back into us. We praise you for releasing us from all spells and curses, and for helping us break free from the bondage of our past.

We ask Lord that you continue to protect us, to heal us, and to renew our minds so we can live in a way that pleases you.

We know that we were once dead in sin, but that you have cleansed our souls, and we can now walk forward with our heads held high.

When the accuser comes to condemn us for our past failures, we ask for the insight to see through the lies, and the strength to rebuke such thoughts, in the name of Jesus.

When people from our past try to judge us for our sins and cast us back in the grave, we ask that you protect us and help us rise above such attacks.

We know that (insert name/s) does/do not want us to live freely as reborn children of God. We ask that they are removed from our lives completely, in both the physical and the astral realms, so we can look forward rather than backwards.

If anyone, including but not limited to (insert name/s), tries/try to hurt us through witchcraft, or voodoo we ask that you rebuke them and reverse the spells, curses, and voodoo back upon them, in the name of Jesus.

We ask Lord that you shield us from the attacks of all witches and warlocks in our workplaces, communities and relationships (past and present) and that you bring people into our lives that will help us advance towards your kingdom.

We ask God to be surrounded by people who love your Word and want us to live in accordance with your will to glorify you. And ask that you remove anyone from our lives that want to hold us back in the past, and shield us from those eager to condemn us for past sins rather than encouraging us towards victory in the holy spirit.

We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
